Role

Product Designer

Charming Chad is a web-based social game built on humor, confidence, and playful gamified flirting. AI drives characters, chat, calls, reactions, scoring, moderation, subscriptions, partner venues, and the points economy.

The game’s strategy is simple: jump in, get it, and start having fun. You choose a spot, interact, and the system scores your moves based on AI logic, challenge, and safety. The bartender acts as a central guide, explaining, offering advice, adding humor, and preserving the game's tone. This approach offers natural guidance without heavy tutorials.

The problem

The initial brief included AI and live women, venues, scoring, subscriptions, rankings, dashboards, QR codes, video calls, moderation, and avatars.

The key was turning this into a coherent MVP.

Players enter themed locations, interact with AI, test flirting, get feedback, and unlock experiences. Women rate lines, join Vibe Rooms, attend meetups, or interact socially while keeping identities private.

The product offers three connected layers: AI gaming, live social interaction, and physical venue partnerships.

The story

Understanding the real problem

I started by clarifying the product's goals.

I asked, "Who are Chad and Vixen?" Should users or the system choose live modes? How do attempts, safety, onboarding, and venue dashboards function?

These questions defined the core gameplay versus future features. I recorded each decision, giving stakeholders clarity on overlapping systems.

We covered locations, modes, prices, gender roles, avatars, ratings, users, venues, rewards, safety, and video calls.

Technology and product complexity

Charming Chad hides complex AI behind a playful game. It combines AI, avatars, locations, scoring, moderation, voice and video, reactions, wallets, payments, maps, QR codes, dashboards, live rooms, and subscriptions.

Free users interact with AI. Premium users unlock more locations, voice, rankings, Vibe Rooms, meetups, avatar customization, and social features.

I keep the game simple on the surface and hide complexity. Players need to know where they are, what they can do, and what happens. They do not need to worry about every scoring rule.

AI avatar system and prompt design

I developed the avatar system using AI generation tools, focusing on realistic, consistent, and archetype-appropriate characters.

The system generates an initial set of 37 female archetype avatars, 8 male Chad types, and additional system personas, such as bartenders, bouncers, and moderators, for a total of over 55 core avatars. Premium users have access to avatar variants, increasing personalization.

Ensuring visual consistency and distinctiveness for avatars was a key challenge, so each avatar remains clear in its role and location while still appearing part of the same cohesive world.

I designed avatars to look realistic, reflect their archetype and venue, and maintain a unified game style.

I used tailored prompts to guide the AI in producing avatars with consistent style, realism, and expressive features that are appropriate to their archetypes and gameplay relevance.

AI-assisted design and content system

I used AI for screen copy, onboarding, feedback, tooltips, empty states, and help content. The aim was to speed up content and ensure a consistent, playful, safe tone.

I generated early copy with AI, refined it with UX writing and client feedback, and the client updated the wording to fit the game logic. This workflow created a strong foundation for development.

We covered onboarding, player actions, safety, scoring feedback, help, FAQ, and in-game guidance.

AI gameplay and scoring logic

AI women always appear and respond uniquely to archetypes, locations, tones, and behaviors.

A college girl in a bar responds differently than a business traveler or gym lifter. Dog park, nightclub, and coffee shop interactions all feel distinct. Reactions, animation, bartender comments, and outcomes teach players. They experience hidden scoring through gameplay, which keeps the experience playful instead of mechanical.

Safety and moderation

Flirting and social interaction make safety essential.

The game includes block, report, and Angel Shot. Blocking protects users. Reporting flags harm. Angel Shot removes a player from interaction. AI moderates, analyzes content, and enforces rules.

I clarified safety actions so users can find tools that feel accessible, not heavy-handed. The game remains playful, but moderation remains serious.

AI video and upcoming interaction

The product includes AI video calls. Users switch from text to AI avatar conversations that include voice, movement, and bartender feedback.

Text remains the default, while voice and video enhance the experience for Pro users.

Design and deliverables

The product is desktop-first, but mobile-friendly. I designed responsive flows for gameplay, chat, scoring, wallet, rankings, vibe room, safety, and venues.

I addressed persona logic, verification, usernames, avatars, points, limits, and game states.

The design phase covered strategy, UX, layouts, UI, avatars, dashboards, QR, moderation, scoring, and development support. Deliverables gave developers a clear, buildable direction for this AI entertainment platform.

Game dashboard

I turned a complex AI game concept into a clear, build-ready product, shaping the UX, flows, responsive interface, and AI-generated avatar system from brief to development.

Outcomes and long-term value

The project turned a complex AI game concept into a structured product experience. It simplified gameplay and unified all features into a coherent experience. Clarity provided the greatest value.

The product includes complex logic, but users do not need to see everything at once.
